3 Things I Loved About My Wedding
Last week’s blog focused on three things I would change about my wedding, but don’t worry - I loved just about every other aspect of the day! I had a hard time narrowing it down to just three choices, but here goes. :) These may or may not be a good fit for your perfect day, but hopefully they’ll get you thinking about what you really want.
Doing a first look
Keeping our bridal party small
Remembering to go with the flow
I am so glad we opted to do a first look! We took all our photos when we were feeling our best and most excited, and it led to our timeline really staying on track the rest of the day. We didn’t feel rushed to get through photos with our photographer and were able to spend more time with our guests during the cocktail hour and reception.
You may recall that I wish we would have had a more intimate wedding (as opposed to the 250+ guests we had present!), but I am grateful we opted to keep our wedding party small because it helped balance things out a bit. We each selected three people to stand next to us and, as a result, truly felt like we were surrounded and lifted up by those who have supported us our entire lives.
Given that we got married at the beginning of June, a weather forecast of 90 degrees and scattered thunderstorms wasn’t a huge surprise - even though it did stress me out leading up to the wedding. Fortunately, I was able to give myself a reality check early enough to appreciate the fact that the downpours occurred while we were inside church and during dinner, and that the hot temperatures gave us the idea to take some fun pictures at the local library (thank goodness for that air conditioning). I figured there wasn’t anything I could do about the weather, so I might as well just embrace it!
