Faith-Filled Wedding at Erickson Farmstead
Janaé + Jordan
Jordan and Janaé’s summer wedding at the beautiful Erickson Farmstead was nothing short of an absolute dream! If you know me, you know I LOVE a day with overcast skies…and after a night of intense storms, Mother Nature calmed down and decided to cooperate just in time for their big day, providing gorgeous light and a comfortable atmosphere for their guests.
I was so excited to get started, especially when Janaé shared all the stunning details she had selected, from her earrings to the amazing florals that were delivered shortly after I arrived. She and her bridesmaids were chatting and listening to music up in the loft as they got ready; she was able to surprise them with her final look because she and her mom had gotten dressed in the gown room, and I loved getting to witness the pure joy and happiness on the faces of her bridesmaids as they saw Janaé as a bride, ready to marry the man of her dreams.
Jordan eagerly awaited his bride’s arrival as she quietly walked up behind him and tapped him on the shoulder. We had selected a secluded spot on a grassy path behind the farmhouse for their first look, and it provided an ideal location for them to connect for a few moments before the day got underway. When they were ready, we jumped right into their portraits - talk about two total naturals in front of the camera! It was such a delight to work with them. Our time absolutely flew by!
A few days before the wedding Janaé’s sister had reached out to me to let me in on a surprise she had planned for the day - a horse and carriage ride provided by Smith Carriage Company! They were on site to escort the bride to the ceremony (scroll down to see more photos with the carriage later in the day!), a meaningful and reflective event that joined them as one, creating a new family.
As many engaged couples needed to this year, Jordan and Janaé were required to make quite a few adjustments leading up to their wedding day. For example, several bridesmaids were unable to be in attendance due to travel restrictions and their plans for the reception needed to be altered - but the bride and groom made the most of things and it was evident they were soaking in every moment to remember forever.
A fantastic outdoor reception was held at the groom’s parents’ home, where close family and friends enjoyed a meal, toasts from multiple wedding party members that had everyone roaring with laughter, and delicious desserts as the day drew to a close. It was an unforgettable day; congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Guzzo!
