The Bridal Suite
I’m guessing it’s not at the top of your list, but it should be!
The bridal suite you choose can make or break the photos capturing the quiet start to your day as you chat with your bridesmaids over mimosas, step into your dress for the first time, and your mom zips you in. Many are cramped, cluttered, or poorly lit, making it difficult to showcase the beauty of the day as you are getting ready!
It IS possible to have incredible images that look like they’re straight out of Brides magazine or Martha Stewart Weddings - it simply takes a little extra thought when selecting the area where you’ll be getting ready.
Four features to look for:
1. Natural Light
Natural light is the most flattering for our skin tones and a brightly lit space will give your photographer a plethora of options when choosing where to place you and what angles to shoot from - you’re sure to look your best.
2. Clean, light colored walls
Light colored walls will reflect any and all natural light pouring into the space, helping to brighten things even more! On the flip side, when they have a lot of things hanging on them, the backgrounds of your photos will be more distracting; keep an eye out for lots of pictures, coat hooks, and other decor when you’re touring a venue.
3. Minimal clutter
One thing that almost all gorgeous getting ready photos have in common is the cleanliness of the background. Look for a space that won’t require much to be moved out of the way to create a clean slate. I’ve had to move more end tables, oversized chairs, and coat racks than I care to remember! Minimizing furniture and clutter frees up my time; I’m able to take more photos rather than rearrange the room.
4. Space to move around
The bigger the better! A tiny space leaves little room to capture details and moments from more than one perspective; give yourself breathing room and your photographer will work their magic x 100.
Bonus
High ceilings are simply lovely, giving the light more room to bounce around and create that soft, even light to make you RADIANT.
