Groom Photos

Grooms, this one is for you! I want you to be completely comfortable on your wedding day, so I’ve put together my four favorite tips to help build that confidence for your photos:

Use accessories to show your personality

We always talk about a bride’s accessories - her shoes, jewelry, veil, and more - but what about you? Think of touches you can add to your attire to bring your personality through, whether it’s funky socks, the watch your grandfather gave you when you graduated from high school, or stylish shoes. Cufflinks, your tie, and a pocket square are a few additional items to consider!

Empty your pockets

Since most dress pants are made with thinner material than jeans, it’s much easier to see the outline of anything you’re keeping in your pockets. If you don’t want to be distracted by the shape of your cell phone or car keys in your wedding photos, find another place to store them for the day.

Wedding day attire

A well-tailored suit or tux will make you look - and feel - like a million bucks. If your dress shirt is thin, consider wearing a plain white undershirt in case you take any photos without your jacket on - especially if it’s going to be a hot day and you expect it might stick to you.

Protip: Bring an extra dress shirt! If you sweat through the first one, you’ll be able to switch it out and no one will be the wiser.

Don’t take yourself too seriously

I know, I know, telling someone to simply “relax” is terrible advice! The more you can lean in, embracing the emotions and little moments throughout the day, the more comfortable and confident you’ll be in front of the camera.
